Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 6 May 1964) is an actor from Denmark. Danish actor from Denmark. He has appeared as Copenhagen mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing, Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third series of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix, and Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour At at the age of 27, he enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark from where he was graduated in the year 1995. Apart from his role in The Killing, [1] he also appeared in Borgen III, a Danish drama that was widely popular. He also played a lead part in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American television show House of Cards, he was the role of President Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in Danish drama Herrens Veje,which was broadcast in the UK in the year 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
